A Direct Teaching Social Skills Program

 

Be part of an innovative direct teaching social skills program for children with learning differences.  This program was developed by the Shelton School in Dallas, Texas and is used to assist children with acquiring tools to effectively interact with peers and interpret non-verbal communication cues. Some of the goals of the program include:

 

Improved ability to create and maintain healthy peer relationships

Develop effective problem solving techniques

Create more positive interactions at school

Improved interpersonal communication skills

Improved ability to effectively communicate needs

Reduced negative behaviour interactions

Improved self-confidence

 

Classes begin the week of October 20th. Sessions will be held on Monday or Thursday evenings from 6-7:30pm for 6 weeks.

All sessions will be held at Oak Park Moms and Tots - 2530 Sixth Line Unit #9 Oakville , Ontario. Thank you to The Community Foundation of Oakville for providing the funding for this program.
