Participants will create kits to enhance their learning environments in the areas of language, arithmetic and the sciences through the use of sensory-motor activities.  Each workshop will focus on a specific curriculum area and will provide opportunities for creating materials that can be effectively and easily integrated into early learning environments.


The Essentials of a Comprehensive Language Program

This workshop will provide participants with an overview of a phonetic based curriculum for reading and the elements that are required to prepare the child for writing. Throughout this workshop, participants will have opportunities to create reading materials and prepare activities that help children to develop preliminary writing skills. This workshop is essential for teachers that are looking to enhance and improve their reading and writing program.


Materials-Based Math Curriculum

This workshop will introduce educational professionals to tools that will encourage children to explore and understand key math concepts.  Participants will be introduced to multisensory tools that incorporate all types of learning styles and encourage independent exploration.

Team Building and Communication

Nurturing the Educators Soul

This workshop focuses on techniques to reduce stress and develop effective time management skill in the classroom. Participants will start with relaxation exercises and move towards nurturing the creativity within. Observation tools and ways to maintain control in the classroom will also be presented. This interactive workshop will leave participants will a feeling of renewal and positive energy.

 

Where are the Mentors? Coaching Recent Early Childhood Educator Graduates and keeping them inspired and empowered.

This workshop is primarily directed towards administrators and owners of early childhood centres. This interactive discussion seminar will allow participants to role play and practice successful mentoring techniques. Team building on a personal level, supportive networks and creating learning opportunities are some of the strategies that will be introduced in this workshop.

 

Communication – Clarifying expectations and Building partnerships

This workshop will provide administrators and with strategies to help early childhood educators maintain professional relationships with parents and other staff members. Specific techniques to improve communication and setting boundaries will be introduced. Written communication essentials and interactive activities will be presented.

Special Needs and Learning Different Children

Applications for Students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)

This workshop is intended for professionals looking for alternatives to traditional ABA and IBI therapy for students with Autism. This program is based on consideration and respect for the individual child. Applications which focus on sequence, order and repetition will be introduced to participants.  All professionals will be provided with resources and tracking programs to help facilitate communication between parents and school. 


Adaptations for the Learning Different Child

This workshop will introduce alternative and adaptive techniques to use with learning different children. Solutions for children with Language Disorders, ADD and Autism will be presented to participants. Professionals looking for support and resources for working with learning different children will benefit from participation in this workshop.

 

Networking and Mentoring for Professionals

First Year Teacher Mentoring Program

The First Year Teaching Mentoring Program provides teachers with ongoing support throughout their first year of teaching. This program is offered online and can be utilized by Canadian and international educators.  We provide resource ideas and curriculum support through the duration of the school year. This program is ideal for teachers in small communities that lack ongoing communication and mentorship opportunities between professionals in elementary and primary environments.

 


Networking for Educational Professionals

 Networking for Educational Professionals is a supportive and informal discussion group that meets throughout the school year to discuss current trends and issues occurring in classrooms today. This group is open to all educational professionals and assistants.  We encourage members of this program to prepare discussion topics and bring ideas to share with other professionals in their community.
